Overview
The position of Mobile Plant Operator role involves using various farm equipment to perform tasks like planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops. They are responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing machinery, as well as ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities
Operate tractors and other farming equipment for hay, silage and other groundwork; and planting, cultivation, and harvesting of potatoes.
Adjusting speed, height and depth of tractors and other farming equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting harvested crops to storage or distribution sites.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations on the farm.
Documenting and reporting on planting, cultivating and harvesting.
Qualifications & Experience
Driver's license:
A valid C Class driver's license is required.
Qualifications:
Certificate II is preferred but not required.
Experience:
1 to 3 years experience operating agricultural machinery. If no qualifications then a minimum of 3 years' experience is required.
Mechanical aptitude:
The ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs is beneficial.
Physical fitness:
The job can involve physical labour and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Safety awareness:
A solid understanding of safety procedures is essential.
Communication and teamwork skills:
The ability to communicate effectively with others is important.

Salary:
$69,000 - $75,000 per annum + superannuation
