Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
Key duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
 * Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
 * Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure alignment with SDLC and change management processes.
 * Partner with the data modelling team to ensure database designs support analytical and operational needs.
 * Implement performance enhancements and graceful database designs for large-scale datasets.
 * Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, and manage deployments via Microsoft DevOps.
 * Conduct code reviews, manage source control using Git, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
 * Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all solutions.
 * Support Agile delivery through iterative development and continuous feedback loops.
Required Experience & Skills
 * 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer.
 * Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSMS, and Microsoft DevOps.
 * Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing strategies, query optimization, and data warehousing techniques.
 * Experience working with large datasets, including performance tuning and efficient data handling.
 * Familiarity with data modelling concepts and collaboration with data modelling teams.
 * Proven ability to gather and interpret business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
 * Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
 * Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and deployment best practices.
Desirable Experience
 * Exposure to data analytics or data science projects.
 * Experience in exploratory data analysis and deriving insights from complex datasets.
 * Prior work in cross-functional teams involving business analysts, data modellers, and developers.
