Job Overview:
The Qualified Train Driver Assistant role is a pathway to becoming a qualified train driver. This position involves providing operational support to the train driver to ensure safe and efficient train operation in accordance with safety management procedures, relevant track access provider rules and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work with a commitment to safety and demonstrate values of integrity, reliability and inclusion.
* Collaborate with a qualified driver to perform rail safety work in train operations.
* Participate in safety meetings, training sessions and briefing sessions related to safe and efficient train operations.
* Work towards achieving required units of competency for the certificate IV in train driving (TLI40216).
* Comply with procedures, work instructions and operating protocols to facilitate delivery of safe and efficient train operations.
