The Director of Medical Services is a key position within our regional GP service, responsible for shaping the future of healthcare in the West Arnhem region.
This executive-level role requires strong clinical leadership and strategic thinking, with a focus on collaboration across teams, local communities, and external partners to deliver high-quality primary health care services and improved outcomes.
* Oversee comprehensive primary health care service delivery and lead a multidisciplinary team.
* Develop and implement systems for clinical care delivery and workforce management.
* Provide medical advice and establish linkages with other health providers for optimum care coordination.
* Lead clinical quality, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
* Maintain professional development and compliance with vocational registration requirements.
* Promote a culture that respects and supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' health and wellbeing.
This role involves visiting remote communities on a regular basis. To be considered, applicants must possess:
* AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner.
* RACGP or FACRRM qualification.
* Experience in leadership and coordination.
* Ability to provide clinical services across the remote areas within the West Arnhem region.
* An understanding of and commitment to the principles of continuous quality improvement.
* An understanding of how the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety apply to the delivery of primary health care services.
* Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly in the use of electronic health records.
* Ability to travel to remote areas for periods of time by road and light aircraft.
* NT Ochre card and Criminal History Clearance.
