Big Chief Hire, a leader in civil construction and machinery hire, is looking for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician based in NSW. This hands‐on role will see you on and off‐site servicing and repairing earthmoving and heavy machinery at client locations across NSW.
What You Will Do
* Work in the yard and travel to sites when required to service, maintain, and repair plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment
* Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
* Conduct safety inspections and ensure machinery meets operational standards
* Maintain accurate service records and document repairs thoroughly
* Work professionally with our clients ensuring they receive professional service delivery at all times
What You Will Bring
* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Plant & Machinery, or similar qualification
* 1–3+ years of hands‐on experience with heavy machinery or field service work
* Strong problem‐solving skills and mechanical aptitude
* Valid driver's licence (HR licence or higher preferred)
* Ability to work independently, travel to sites when required
* Safety‐first mindset with commitment to OH&S compliance
