Responsibilities
* Ensuring personnel adhere to established safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment
* Ensuring all Glass Manufacturing work orders are completed timely and accurately in alignment with Manufacturing weekly plans
* Glass Manufacturing internal Manpower planning, Training, Motivating and assisting operators
* To ensure efficiencies are met on all machinery through training, OEE's and variance reporting.
* Ensuring GMP compliance and instilling a "right-first-time‟ approach within the plant
* Initiating improvements in processes and procedures per continuous improvement principles
* Control costs, minimise waste and maximise process and equipment efficiencies to ensure production demands are met while maintaining a positive and safe working environment.
* Plan and control raw materials and finished products
* Safely conducting work and demonstrating a strong commitment to SDI's values of passion, accountability, respect, teamwork and innovation.
* Demonstrates readiness to be hands‐on on any task required to meet the delivery on time or in the absence of staffing.
* Follows all OH&S policies and procedures to ensure own safety, the safety of fellow employees and all persons on the worksite.
* Releases and prioritises work orders for Glass manufacturing.
* Liaises with planning, quality assurance, other relevant departments and purchasing departments as required
* Assists in writing and maintaining ongoing training of staff on issues such as code of GMP, safety and job-related skills
* Assists with writing or updating production-related documents as required.
* Participates in Safety Risk Assessments of process and equipment.
* Assists in managing employee‐related issues: timesheets, leave applications, minor disciplinary procedures.
* Assists manager in improving stock control through timely stocktake, cycle counts and reconciliations.
* Actively brings up any safety‐related concerns or hazards
* Conducts daily meetings with the staff to discuss safety, quality, and delivery.
* Escalates any matter which requires attention from the manager in a timely manner.
* Enters work orders into SAP.

* GI Capsulation
* Research and Development
E.g., Production forms, Work instructions, General forms, Standard Operating procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* A minimum of 3 Years of experience in any pharmaceutical industry or any food industry.
* A bachelor's degree in any science qualification, technical/chemical background will be desirable but not necessary
* A thorough understanding of the Code of GMP as well as OH&S practices
* Knowledge of SAP will be desirable but not necessary
* Good knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word
Skills
* Good understanding of company organisation and structure, familiarity with relevant SDI policies and procedures and knowledge of day to day operation and terminology.
* Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines.
* Works well within a team and possess excellent leadership skills
* Excellent team working, organisational and time management skills for meeting deadlines and minimising stress.
* A high degree of initiative, innovation and ability to get results without direct supervision.

* Understanding of 5S and Lean working environment
The position is located in Bayswater. Working hours: 38 per week. Day shift or afternoon shift as required with prior arrangement.
