Exciting opportunity exists to join a dedicated Team of Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Health Workers who are integral to supporting the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients of Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. The Aboriginal Liaison Officer positions sit within the Social Work Dept Campbelltown-Camden Hospitals and work closely with social work staff to support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander inpatients and outpatients of the hospital.
SWSLHD operates its services across the traditional lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra peoples, in strong partnership with local Aboriginal communities to deliver better, culturally responsive health care, led by our Aboriginal Health services.We are a district that is committed to supporting you grow and develop your skills. You will be provided with cultural supervision, participate in cultural strengths mapping and form part of a larger, supportive Aboriginal workforce.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
* In this role being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement. Tell us about your mob and connection to culture?
* Relevant qualification (graduate or non-graduate) related to Aboriginal Health, Health or Community Services and/or relevant experience as an Aboriginal Health Worker.
* Describe how your past experiences demonstrate your willingness to learn, your commitment to further education, and your ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, while using digital tools confidently.
* Explain your understanding of Aboriginal culture and the social issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in relation to health and outline how you have built networks or collaborated with relevant community services to support positive outcomes.
* Do you have a current Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2)? if you hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
