Job Description:

Microchip Frequency and Time Division (FTD), a world leader in precise time solutions, sets the world's standard for time. The company generates, distributes, and applies precise time for the communications, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure, and metrology industries. FTD's customers, including telecom service providers, network equipment manufacturers, governments, and suppliers worldwide, rely on our advanced timing technologies, atomic clocks, services, and solutions to build more reliable networks and systems.


Responsibilities:

* Provide quality assurance support to ensure purchased parts and manufactured goods conform to company standards for design, procurement, manufacture, and reliability.
* Develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements during product design and manufacturing.
* Assist in meeting department goals and implement Continuous Improvement activities using Six Sigma tools and practices.
* Support operations by analyzing and resolving product and process problems with Six Sigma methodologies.
* Audit manufactured goods for conformance to engineering and manufacturing standards.
* Engage with contract manufacturers for product transfer, new product introduction, and change management.
* Report on quality trends and recommend improvements.
* Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) on PCBA's, parts, and systems.
* Conduct supplier audits and participate in NPI meetings.
* Perform root cause and corrective action analysis for failures.
* Assist in supplier quality system audits and process audits at supplier sites; travel may be required.
* Collaborate with inspectors and engineering to resolve quality issues and improve drawings.
* Support other design, development, and quality tasks as assigned.


Requirements/Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 4 years' experience in Quality or equivalent.
* Experience in manufacturing, preferably in electronics or PCB design.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, 8D methodologies, and tools.
* Familiarity with quality and LEAN processes, techniques, and tools.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab SPC.
* Motivated, independent, and collaborative with good communication skills.
* Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
* Additional training in ISO 9001 auditing, GD&T, and IPC standards is a plus.
* Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. and compliance with export control laws.


Physical Attributes & Requirements:

* Handling, hearing, kneeling, reaching, seeing, talking, working alone and around others.
* Sitting 50%, standing 40%, walking 10%, lifting 15 lbs.
