About the role
Working as a Dental Assistant is a fast-paced and engaging role, with no two days the same. A typical day may involve assisting with dental procedures, preparing and cleaning up after treatments, managing administration and stock control, and serving as the first point of contact for patients at reception.
The new Cowra Community Dental Clinic is set to open in early 2026. This position, based in Cowra, will play a key role in providing local dental assisting leadership, which will be pivotal to the successful relocation of services and the establishment of new processes.
The role includes chairside assistance to dental clinicians, as well as general support to the dental team, including instrument reprocessing and reception/administration duties. It may also involve providing outreach services to surrounding towns and/or delivering mobile dental care in schools.
The Oral Health Service within the Western NSW Local Health District fosters a supportive and friendly culture, with a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about the care they provide.
