Kookaburra Early Learning is seeking a talented Kitchen Cook to join our dynamic team in Casino NSW 2470. As a full-time Kitchen Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for the children in our care. Your passion for food and commitment to providing an exceptional culinary experience will be key to your success in this position.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare and cook a variety of healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children of all ages.
* Ensure all meals comply with dietary requirements and cater to any special dietary needs.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and health regulations.
* Communicate effectively with teaching staff to understand the children's needs and preferences.
* Assist in menu planning and ordering of ingredients.
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
What we're looking for
* Relevant qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within an early learning or childcare setting but not necessary.
* Strong knowledge of nutritional requirements for children and the ability to plan and prepare balanced meals.
* Excellent time management and multi‑tasking skills to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
* Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain one.
