Provide high-quality and evidence-based research, analysis and strategic advice and drive project management activities to assist in the delivery of Government renewable energy priorities. Context statement

The Sustainable Energy Development Division within the Department of Mining and Energy develops, advocates, and implements electricity industry and sustainable energy policies, strategies, and reforms to support secure, reliable, and affordable supply of energy to all Territorians. Key duties and responsibilities

Deliver program and project management functions, effectively managing risks and issues, and establish and maintain strong working relationships and collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the development, management, and delivery of remote community stakeholder engagement activities. Prepare executive level briefings, reports, and submissions to a range of internal and external stakeholders. Work independently, reporting to the Senior Director on strategic initiatives and Project Directors for specific projects, exercising initiative, flexibility, problem solving skills and sound judgement within challenging timeframes. Maintain effective administration, governance and reporting systems in all areas of responsibility. Selection criteria

Essential

High level organisational, and project management skills, with demonstrated experience effectively managing complex or challenging projects that involve researching complex issues, evaluating options, preparing high-level reports, costing initiatives and achieving outcomes within agreed timeframes while addressing the interests of a range of stakeholders. High level interpersonal skills including proven experience in developing and fostering networks with key internal and external stakeholders, and effectively engaging and communicating with various stakeholder groups, including local communities and Aboriginal stakeholders, on sensitive and complex projects across multiple disciplines such as engineering, planning, finance and legal. Demonstrated high level conceptual and analytical skills in dealing with complex policy and project issues. Demonstrated experience undertaking evidence-based research and analysis and preparing transparent and concise advice through briefings, submissions, reports, policies, and papers, on complex or sensitive subject matters. Proven ability to objectively and systematically analyse information to form evidence-based conclusions and develop relevant recommendations. Extensive knowledge of the challenges and issues associated with program and project delivery in the Northern Territory. Responsibility for meeting internal and external reporting obligations including coordinating the development of business plans, budgets, human resourcing, and corporate reporting requirements. Undertake planning and management of projects identified by the Executive Director and provide recommendations that will inform and support the implementation of identified Divisional priorities. Desirable

Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, economics, business, law, or other relevant disciplines. Demonstrated experience and/or detailed knowledge of appropriate engagement practices with Indigenous communities of the Northern Territory. Further information
