Library Officer – First Five Forever Program
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent part time Library Officer – First Five Forever Program to contribute to Council's success.
This is a part time position working 58 hours per fortnight. Workdays are flexible. Salary is pro-rata, hourly rate of $45.26 applies.

About the Role
The purpose of this position is to assist in the implementation, delivery and promotion for the First Five Forever Family Literacy Initiative (First 5 Forever), within the Gladstone Regional Council area in accordance with the objectives of the Library Service and framework of the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) First Five Forever Service Level Agreement.
Your role will include:
* Delivering First Five Forever and other youth orientated programs to children throughout the Gladstone region.
* Researching, networking and liaising with regional partners to keep abreast of family based programs and incorporate these into the First Five Forever Program as appropriate.
* Promoting library services available to the community and parents.
You will bring:
1. Demonstrated relevant experience, knowledge and skills working in a similar work environment or in a customer service role.
2. Skills and experience in recording, reconciling and processing financial transaction including cash handling.
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
4. Sound communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
5. Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
6. Must be eligible and willing to obtain on appointment, a positive notice Working with Children Blue Card.
7. Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
