The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of upcoming tenders, the business is now seeking an experienced Estimator to join the pre‐construction team. This is a key role responsible for preparing accurate estimates across a diverse portfolio of education, community and institutional projects, typically ranging from $5M–$60M. You will work closely with senior leadership, project managers and subcontractors to develop competitive, commercially sound tenders.
The Role
Reporting to the Directors, your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing detailed estimates and tender submissions for new‐build and refurbishment projects
* Reviewing drawings, specifications and documentation to determine project scope
* Conducting quantity take‐offs and cost analysis across all trade packages
* Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing and managing tender clarifications
* Preparing trade comparison schedules and tender adjudications
* Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering options during tender stage
* Maintaining estimating databases, benchmarks and pricing records
* Supporting project handover from tender stage to the delivery team
About You
* Degree‐qualified in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar
* 4–7+ years' experience in estimating within commercial construction
* Experience pricing education, government or institutional projects highly regarded
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, trade packages and cost planning
* Excellent analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
* Confident communicator able to engage with subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
