About the Shepparton Laboratory
Austin Health Pathology Shepparton is a core laboratory offering services of Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Haematology and Microbiology services. The Shepparton Laboratory operates 24/7 supporting GV Health hospital, as well as providing services to surrounding hospitals, GPs, and specialists from across the region.
About the role
The Shepparton Laboratory is seeking 2 enthusiastic scientist to join our team. One of these roles is permanent; the other is 7 month fixed term.
A regular day will see you:
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment as per laboratory procedures
* Maintain training and competency levels in accordance with documented laboratory methods, procedures and policies
* Maintain relevant scientific and technological knowledge and skills
* Participate in shift and on-call roster
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You'll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
* A commitment to Austin Health values.
* Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine degree, or alternative/equivalent science degree recognised by AIMS, AACB, ASM or ASC
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
* Ability to cope with continuous change
