About the Role As a Disability Support Worker you will provide tailored, individual support to people with disabilities in both home and community settings, as well as in our Shared Independent Living environment. We have a permanent part time position of 10 hours a fortnight in Armadale. The successful candidate will be able to commit to shifts on Wednesdays from 9am to 2pm. You will provide support to a male with disability who enjoys accessing the community and in particular, window shopping and visiting op shops. Key Responsibilities Support people with disability in their daily living tasks Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing, dressing) and manual handling Implement person-centred active support and follow behaviour support plans Support clients during mealtime routines to promote independence and safety Log daily care and changes in needs to ensure informed, coordinated support Skills & Experience Cert III Individual Support or similar Passionate about providing active support Experience working with people with complex needs and behaviours Confidence in working 1:1 with clients and managing complex situations and behaviours An unrestricted Western Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop A current First Aid and CPR certificate To be considered for this role, you will need to undergo probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and an NDIS worker screening check.
