About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Performance & Analytics, this full‐time, permanent Finance Analyst will support critical aspects of the Finance Division, leveraging analytical expertise to deliver both BAU activities and ad‐hoc projects.
* Lead complex financial management activities aligned with business requirements.
* Drive the identification, design, and implementation of process improvement initiatives.
* Support Finance Business Partners through analysis, reporting, and strategic collaboration.
* Ensure accurate and timely delivery of reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
* Manage month‐end processes, performance monitoring, and reporting in line with Melbourne Water policies, procedures, and strategic priorities.
Salary: MW EA Level 6.1 – $106,178 + Super
About You
* Strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles, including monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the impact of key financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
* Solid knowledge of accounting standards, management accounting practices, auditing and internal controls.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Proven financial modelling skills and experience analysing large datasets in Excel.
* Familiarity with data analytics tools; Power BI experience highly regarded.
* Excellent time‐management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of accounting software systems; TechOne experience is an advantage.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, coupled with a high level of customer service when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
* Highly developed analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to think laterally.
* Self‐motivated and proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
