Job Description

The Law Clerk provides high‐quality research, administrative and operational support to the Licensing team to enhance regulatory processes and contribute to effective oversight of the legal profession.

In this role you will:

QLS has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Law Clerk to join their Licensing team. The Licensing team regulates legal practitioners in Queensland by setting standards, supporting compliance, and ensuring law practices operate in a way that protects the community and the profession's reputation.

* Support Licensing operations by coordinating documents, preparing draft submissions and assisting with projects that improve processes, systems and workflows.
* Provide reliable administrative and operational support to senior leaders, including managing team in-boxes and responding to stakeholder enquiries.
* Conduct legal research, including CITEC searches, and prepare clear, concise summaries to support regulatory decision‐making.
* Assist with regulatory processes including practising certificate renewals, compliance checks, audit support and KPI reporting.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen team efficiency, documentation and systems.

Ideally you will have the following:

* Around 1-2 years' experience in legal administration, a legal assistant role, or similar professional services environment, with exposure to legal processes or compliance workflows.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, well‐structured work.
* Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines while maintaining quality and keeping stakeholders informed.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Competency using MS Office and confidence working with CRM or case management systems (Microsoft Dynamics desirable).
