ABOUT THE ROLE
The Truck, Plant & Equipment (TPE) Specialist applies deep technical knowledge across heavy commercial vehicles, plant, and equipment to develop cost‐effective, compliant and fit‐for‐purpose solutions for customers.
As a subject matter expert, you'll work closely with Relationship Managers and Business Development to drive sales outcomes, support TPE vehicle growth targets and deliver bespoke commercial solutions that bring the Custom Fleet value proposition to life.
Your work spans asset specification, pricing, quoting, weight distribution analysis, build management, digital tracking and pre‐delivery inspections. You will ensure every solution meets Chain of Responsibility (CoR), safety, compliance and customer requirements. This is a key growth and CoR‐focused role that supports both existing portfolio opportunities and new customer wins.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately interpret customer asset and build requirements, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and supported by accurate pricing from suppliers and internal teams.
Deliver all quotes within established KPI turnaround times.
Collaborate with Relationship Managers to execute on ARP potential and drive new TPE opportunities across the existing portfolio.
Support New Business on "new to Custom Fleet" opportunities by demonstrating the TPE value proposition across key segments such as Last Mile Delivery and Government.
Conduct in‐build and pre‐delivery inspections onsite, ensuring quality, compliance, weight limits, dimensions and roadworthy factors are documented digitally, including photographs.
Produce standardised CoR‐compliant digital inspection reports within 24 hours for customers and suppliers; store reports internally for audit purposes.
Digitally track prototype builds in real time, documenting any changes to weights, dimensions, compliance thresholds, cost variations and build adjustments.
Manage all post‐prototype build pipelines via Smartsheet, ensuring supplier activity, alerts, delays and next steps are accurately tracked and visible to Activations.
Ensure CoR and Fit for Purpose principles are upheld throughout all build stages.
Maintain a strong customer‐first approach across all activities and business processes.
Actively contribute to improved quote conversion rates using technical expertise to strengthen customer confidence.
Partner with Procurement to maintain preferred manufacturer pricing and negotiate discounts where applicable.
