Job Description
The Support Worker - Catering will play a vital role in ensuring a supportive environment where residents feel valued and respected. This includes encouraging residents to express their food preferences and choices, while also ensuring that meals are nutritious and prepared according to relevant standards.
Catering support workers will work closely with the Chef/Cook to deliver exceptional services to our residents. They will prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs, including special dietary requirements, allergies, and culturally specific preferences as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
Ensuring a safe and clean living environment is a top priority for this role. Catering support workers will ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents' living space is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
This role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to prioritize workloads effectively. Continuous quality improvement is essential in this position, and a commitment to ongoing learning and development is required.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook
* Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident
* Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained
* Prevent cross-contamination and complete food safety records
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
* Commitment to continuous quality improvement
* Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
* Ability to operate standard domestic and industrial equipment
* Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety desirable
* Food Handling Certificate desirable
