Position Information
Broderick Gillawarna School is a School for Specific Purposes located in Revesby, NSW with 99 current enrolments. The school caters for students aged 4 to 18 years with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, autism and physical disabilities. The school has a diverse, multicultural community with a large proportion of students from language backgrounds other than English.
BGS is committed to delivering individualised education that supports academic achievement, communication, independent living, leisure and vocational skills, enabling students to lead fulfilling lives within their community.

Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated experience teaching students with intellectual disability, autism and complex learning needs, with a strong capacity to implement differentiated programs that support personalised learning.
* Demonstrated expertise in using a range of accessible and meaningful assessment strategies to identify student learning needs and deliver high-quality, evidence-based teaching and learning programs.
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families and external providers, and contribute to a positive school culture that strengthens student, family and community voice.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of trauma-informed practice and evidence-based behaviour support approaches to support students with complex behavioural, sensory, health and communication needs.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
