Hays have partnered with a well-established transport organisation who are looking for a Senior Accounts Officer looking to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will take ownership of end-to-end accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and general accounts administration. You will work in a supportive team with a great culture.
Your new role
* Manage end‐to‐end accounts payable and receivable, including processing and reconciling creditor and debtor accounts while maintaining accurate and up‐to‐date records.
* Complete credit card and bank reconciliations, process and allocate receipts, and support month‐end activities such as BAS preparation and general ledger maintenance.
* Process weekly payroll for approximately 40 employees and prepare monthly payroll tax and superannuation for review, ensuring all financial tasks are delivered accurately and on time.
* Assist the Financial Controller with any ad-hoc finance administration duties
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience in an accounts officer or a similar accounts role
* Strong understanding of AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive finance team
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
