Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 38 hours/week)
Salary Range: Base Salary $$65,313 per annum + super, plus applicable allowances, overtime and penalty rates, which may increase total annual earnings by $18,000 or more depending on work performed. Additional entitlements and overtime do not form part of the advertised base salary.

We’re looking for a hands-on labourer to help keep Townsville’s wastewater network running well.
The job includes fixing leaks, clearing blockages, repairing pipes, checking manholes, and helping with both planned and emergency maintenance. You’ll also help look after pump stations by cleaning probes and wet wells, keeping the area tidy, filling in log sheets and reporting any problems. You’ll be expected to follow all safety, environmental and work procedures each day, including ISO requirements, permits and site rules. The role also involves cleaning and disinfecting spills, keeping tools and gear in good condition, and helping identify parts we need in stock.
We want someone who turns up, works hard, follows instructions and takes pride in doing the job properly. If you’re reliable, practical and ready to get stuck in, this role could be a great fit.
This role is required to participate in the on-call roster and overtime arrangements as required, to resolve out of hours operational issues or emergency works including disaster management. The on-call roster is generally 1 week in every 8 weeks.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally you will have:
* Current “MR” class driver’s licence.
* Confined Space Entry ticket and a good knowledge of confined space entry procedures.
* Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
* Current Drainers license will be desirable.
* Ability to receive Immunisation against Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B provided through Council.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Strong community and customer relations skills.
* Strong work ethic.
