Role Overview:

Facilitate education and support for the Junior Medical Officer (JMO) workforce across Hospitals North, including Interns and Resident Medical Officers. Collaborate with the Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania (PMCT) on prevocational education and training in accordance with AMC requirements, in close partnership with the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) and the Director WBA.

The Team:

The Launceston General Hospital is an accredited 450-bed teaching hospital and the major referral hospital for Tasmania's North and North-West. It provides emergency, acute, specialist, inpatient, and outpatient services to Launceston and surrounding areas. It is the largest employer in the region with around 2,300 staff.

The hospital emphasizes quality services rooted in respect, trust, professionalism, teamwork, and community partnership. It maintains strong collaborations with the University of Tasmania and other universities to provide clinical training across various health disciplines.

The Clifford Craig Foundation, as the community arm of the hospital, funds medical research, education, equipment, and patient facilities, benefiting the regional community and enhancing the hospital's ability to attract skilled professionals.

The Tasmanian Department of Health supports the Studer Program at Launceston General Hospital, based on nine key principles including measurement, accountability, alignment of values, and communication.

Position Details:

- Fixed term, part-time, up to 34.2 hours per fortnight, starting ASAP for three years.

*Hours negotiable with the successful applicant.

Note: The process may fill similar vacancies for up to 12 months.

Role and Salary:

Visiting Medical Practitioners Level 1-4, $254,149 - $445,341 per annum, pro-rata, plus superannuation and benefits. Allowances and benefits include leave, study support, Fitness Passport, and others.

Eligibility:

Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia, Working with Children Registration. Desirable: Current driver's license.
