Austin Engineering Ltd is seeking MEM Mechanical Fitters to join our Site Services Team in Western Australia.
You will be part of our Site Services Team and assist with assembling and installing trays accordingly to the specification and technical drawings for Komatsu, Hitachi, CAT and other heavy mobile equipment brands for our Tier 1 mining client sites. This includes hydraulics, fitting bushes, bearings & shimming for the truck trays, excavator buckets and some minor general maintenance.
This is a full-time permanent position, FIFO from Perth on 2 weeks on – 1 week off roster.
What you'll be doing
* Perform routine maintenance, servicing and repair of the buckets and trays for heavy mining equipment such as excavators, haul trucks, and other machinery
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, and implement effective solutions on the buckets and trays e.g. the hydraulic systems to lift the tray, if required
* Collaborate with the wider site services & maintenance team to ensure the efficient operation of equipment
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
* Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures according to the sites and client's expectations
What we're looking for
* Demonstrable safety-first mindset and commitment to workplace health and safety
* Mechanical trade qualification, preferably with mobile equipment maintenance (MEM) experience
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* 1‐3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably with maintenance and repairs on heavy earthmoving plant fleets
* Understanding of mine site operations and OEM equipment, preferably have mine site experience and product knowledge of OEM equipment
* Preferably, experience working on dump truck trays and excavator/loader buckets (793, 830e and 930e)
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‐quality workmanship
Qualifications
HRWL (DG, RB, LF, WP) highly desirable
