The Finance Manager is responsible for leading all financial operations for Norco's Australian business, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting while supporting the organization's strategic and operational goals. This role oversees core accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash flow management, and month-end close, and plays a key role in financial planning, compliance, and process improvement across the business.
Operating in a dynamic and fast-paced start-up environment, the Finance Manager must demonstrate strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global finance teams and local leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
* Oversee all day-to-day financial operations for Norco Australia, including AP, AR, banking, cash flow, and general ledger functions.
* Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation requirements, and internal financial control frameworks.
* Provide financial guidance to local leaders.
* Maintain and continuously improve financial controls, policies, and documentation.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency across finance operations.
* Support upgrades to finance systems, data integrity initiatives, and workflow automation projects.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial controls, risk mitigation, and compliance processes.
Accounts Payable
* Lead the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
* Oversee vendor management, AP reconciliations, and payment schedules (including EFT and international payments).
* Review and approve employee expense claims and corporate card transactions.
* Prepare monthly AP ageing reports and variance analyses.
* Resolve supplier issues promptly while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Accounts Receivable & Credit Management
* Build effective relationships with dealers to ensure timely payments and maintain appropriate credit limits to maximize sales.
* Oversee invoicing, credit notes, collections, and cash application processes.
* Monitor AR ageing and ensure timely follow-up on overdue balances.
* Evaluate credit risk and implement strategies to enhance collection efficiency.
* Prepare AR reports, including ageing summaries and collection performance analysis.
Month-End Close & Reporting
* Lead and coordinate month-end closing activities for Sales, Inventory, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Reconcile Inventory, AP and AR subledgers to the general ledger and investigate variances
* Prepare monthly AP and AR reports, including ageing summaries, variance analyses and management commentary
* Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
* Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
* Assist in the preparation of management reports and analysis as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5' experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to AP, AR, general ledger, and financial reporting.
* CPA or CA qualification (or progress toward one) is strongly preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, compliance requirements, and internal control principles.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems (experience with Odoo or similar systems advantageous).
* Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and develop practical solutions.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner with operational and commercial teams.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
