Humpty Doo Barramundi is Australia's largest Barramundi farm. This 100% family owned and operated farm is located in tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory, where it is summer everyday. HDB prides itself on growing a premium saltwater Barramundi for Australia's retail and food service.

Our mission is to responsibly produce beautiful Australian Barramundi while demonstrating our genuine care for and commitment to our people, fish, environment and partners.

We are currently seeking Aquaculture Nursery Managers and Supervisors, to join our team for day to day running of our aquaculture nurseries that support HDB's farming operations. The successful individuals will have demonstrated experience in Aquaculture for commercial food production.

Aquaculture Nursery Manager / Supervisor Responsibilities

* Management and supervision of teams
* Rostering, Operation scheduling and Planning
* Fish Feeding, adjustment, and data collection and analysis
* Observational checks on fish behaviour and health
* Equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
* Optimizations and maintenance of RAS System inc. water quality monitoring
* Fish Grading and Movement / Transportation
* Monitoring Fish Performance and KPI Targets
* Inventory stock takes, reconciliation and purchasing

Essential Criteria:

* Desire to reside in Darwin or Greater Darwin area
* Ability to work in Australia and possess a valid Visa.
* Relevant qualifications and or experience in Aquaculture or Science related field (certificate, diploma, or degree)
* Experience in hatchery & nursery operating flow through or RAS system
* Leadership experience in a production role
* Excellent communication skills, written and oral
* Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
* Works with people from different countries, language, and culture
* Awareness and attention to details tasks and WHS
* Organized, efficient, proactive, and positive attitude
* Reliable and flexible in working days and long hours (12 hours shift and weekend work)
* Must have current manual driver's license and own reliable transport
* First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain
