About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician who has experience in the mining and/or construction industries to provide technological and technical support to both internal and external customers. Reporting to the Quality and Technical Manager this role is accountable for the provision of timely and accurate technical advice and diagnostic expertise to meet the needs of our customers; conducting failure analysis and writing reports; as well as being up to date with developments in CAT digital and technology products and solutions. Some travel throughout South Australia and Western NSW to provide on-site support to customers will be required.

About You

A self-starter who embraces new challenges and has the drive to achieve outstanding results. You are analytical with a strong attention to detail, have extensive mechanical knowledge, are tech savvy and can effectively tailor the communication of technical information to your audience.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

* Provide technical information & support to customers across a broad range of Caterpillar equipment and technologies;
* Undertake technical research where necessary, ensuring the effective and efficient resolution of technical enquiries both internal and external;
* Provide technical advice and diagnostic expertise to employees within the Cavpower organisation;
* Assist resolve Caterpillar warranty enquiries;
* Investigate, conduct failure analysis and provide Applied Failure Analysis reports;
* Provide assistance and technical support to the training department for the preparation of training materials on adhoc basis.

Skills and Experience Required:

* Excellent diagnostic skills;
* Analytical with research ability and a strong attention to detail;
* High level computer literacy (including network and windows based applications);
* Experience with and an understanding of radio telemetry;
* Familiarity with GPS and Machine Control technologies;
* Strong commitment to meeting customer needs;
* Excellent communication both written and verbal;
* Trade qualified (Mechanical or Electrical);
* Current Driver's Licence.
