About the role

As a member of our Station Staff team, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Customer Group. Our Services Officers are the first point of contact for our passengers, selling Mykis, making announcements, coordinating coach activities, de‐escalating situations, and providing excellent customer service. You will keep a lookout for risks or hazards, ensuring the station is presented and well maintained (including cleaning toilets and washing windows).

Our Station Assistants assist with overall presentation and cleaning, oversee the safe operation of the coach interchange, provide passenger assistance, handle lost property, and conduct regular inspections. The position may also involve helping passengers with luggage, which can include the use of a motorised device.

All Station Staff positions require availability for a 24/7 rotating roster and may require working at any station along the Western Line, up to 80km from your home depot.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist with ticketing, fare checking, and luggage handling
• Ensure trains are ready for service, from cleanliness to functionality
• Work through service disruptions and emergency situations with calm professionalism
• Manage and report any equipment or facility issues

About you

A true customer service professional: punctual, reliable, energetic with excellent communication skills, able to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• The ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster
• Strong attention to detail and problem‐solving skills plus exceptional face‐to‐face customer service experience
• A valid driver's license
• Completion of Year10 or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' full‐time, face‐to‐face customer service experience
• A valid driver's license and own transportation
• Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights
