We are currently searching for casual junior sales assistants to join our team. This position will be based in Charters Towers, Queensland. The role of a junior sales assistant is to support the day-to-day operations of the retail store, contribute to customer satisfaction and help drive sales by providing excellent service and assistance to shoppers.
Hours:
Availability to work weekends is a must. After-school work may also be available if required.
- Saturday: 8:40am - 2:10pm
- Sunday: 9:35am - 1:10pm
As a junior sales assistant you will be responsible for:
- Cash handling and processing payments
- Participating in training and development activities
- Greeting and assisting customers promptly and courteously
- Ensuring the store is clean, tidy and well-presented at all times
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve store goals and objectives
- Responding to customer inquiries, providing product information, and offering recommendations as needed
- Assisting with stock replenishment, including unpacking deliveries, shelving products, and maintaining organised displays
- A willingness to learn
- A dedication to accuracy
- Cash handling and basic math skills
- Familiarity with basic computer skills, point-of-sale systems, or other relevant technology, even if gained outside of a traditional retail setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and higher management
- Any hobbies, interests, or coursework related to retail products, fashion, or similar areas that demonstrate a passion for learning about different products and their features
