Job Description:
Tarkine Consulting is working with a specialist technology consultancy engaged on a large-scale enterprise program within a major Australian organisation.
This role sits within a finance and data platform program, focused on building a single view of policy data to support reporting, governance, and risk functions. The work is backend and data-led, with a strong emphasis on data migration, ETL validation, and data quality across complex environments.
This is a long-term program with an initial 12-month engagement, with extensions expected.
What you'll be doing
* Perform backend and data-focused testing across ETL and data migration pipelines
* Validate data accuracy, completeness, and transformation logic using complex SQL
* Support end-to-end data validation across multiple systems and integration layers
* Contribute to test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting
* Support UAT and production verification activities
* Work closely with developers, analysts, and data engineers to ensure data integrity
* Contribute to improvements in test frameworks and quality practices
What we're looking for
* Strong experience in data testing, ETL validation, or data warehouse environments
* Advanced SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation
* Experience working on data migration or large-scale data transformation programs
* Experience with Data Build Tool (DBT)
* Exposure to automation in data testing (DBT, Python, or similar)
* Understanding of data pipelines and multi-layered architectures
* Experience working in Agile delivery environments
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to have
* Exposure to Python or data automation frameworks
* Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow)
* Background in financial services, insurance, or regulated environments
