Lead the Establishment and Growth of Takwood's Scaffolding Division
Takwood Industrial Services is expanding its service offering and establishing an in‑house scaffolding capability to complement our existing industrial operations. We are seeking an experienced Scaffolding Operations Manager to set up, lead, and grow this new division in Gladstone, QLD.

About the Role
As Operations Manager – Scaffolding, you will have full accountability for the establishment and ongoing leadership of Takwood's scaffolding division. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role responsible for operational setup, people leadership, safety systems, client engagement, and sustainable growth.
You will work closely with senior leadership while operating with a high level of autonomy, taking ownership of the division's success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the setup and rollout of Takwood's new scaffolding capability
Drive business development by actively engaging with existing and new clients to identify opportunities, support tender submissions, and secure new scaffolding work
Ensure close collaboration between the scaffolding team and Insulation, SMW, Painting, Blasting, and Fireproofing crews to support safe access, efficient sequencing, and integrated project delivery
Develop and implement systems, procedures, safety frameworks, and operational processes
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high‑performing scaffolding workforce
Manage scaffolding operations across multiple client sites and projects
Undertake occasional travel to client and project sites to support operations, safety, client engagement, and business development activities
Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives
Ensure compliance with scaffold design, engineering requirements, WHS legislation, and Australian Standards
Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, and subcontractor performance
Contribute to estimating, tendering, budgeting, and continuous improvement activities
About You
Minimum 5 years' experience in senior scaffolding or operational leadership roles
Demonstrated experience in building or scaling teams or business units (highly desirable)
Strong commercial acumen, including subcontractor and cost management
Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of new capabilities
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong technical knowledge across a wide range of scaffolding systems
Requirements
Construction Industry White Card
High Risk Work Licence – Advanced Scaffolding (SA)
Valid Driver's Licence
