**Position Summary** 
As you would be aware, Bechtel is an innovative organisation, and we are currently looking for an experienced **Project HR Supervisor **who wants to help our people excel in the delivery of projects within the Mining and Metals industry in Australia. 
Your role will be to assist both strategically and operationally with one of our medium-scale Australian projects. 
As the HR Supervisor for personnel located on site and in the Brisbane home office, this position will be based in the Brisbane office, supporting project management with HR, talent management and diversity initiatives on the project.

**Key Responsibilities** 
Reporting directly to, and with support from the HR Services Manager for Mining and Metals, your major responsibilities will include: 
- Coordinates project staffing (and de-staffing) of Professional Staff employees in cooperation with recruitment team and project management team 
- Provides advice and counsel to project management regarding the interpretation and intent of Bechtel’s HR policies and procedures 
- Works with HR management and project management to resolve employee relations issues including employee grievances 
- Provides HR support to employees (benefits, leaves, expense reporting, assignment conditions, etc) 
- Develop Project Procedures including timesheets, site rotations, training, business trips, emergency and contingency actions for professional staff employees 
- Facilitates performance assessment and compensation planning programs for the project 
- Aids project management in identifying training and development needs; either conducts or arranges for employee and supervisory training programs 
- In coordination with functional HR, investigates and prepares exception to policy requests 
- Maintains HR data and provides regular and ad hoc reports to Project Management and HR as requested 
- Receives operational guidance from Project Manager and functional guidance from M&M; HR Services Manager 
- Liaise with client counterpart and provides information on matters involving HR administration and employment activity

**About you** 
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or solid relevant work experience in lieu of degree 
- Previous experience in EPC or EPCM projects 
- Experience with the HR processes involving project management, including personnel development, talent management, performance assessments, calibration, and compensation 
- Experience and demonstrated skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting personnel administration 
- Proven organization and time management skills 
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated skill in preparation and presentation of oral and written reports 
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team 
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment. 
- Previous experience in using a Human Resources Information Systems such as SAP 
Preferred: 
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Engineering/ Procurement/Construction business 
- Project HR experience 
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s organizational structure, human resources policies and procedures
