Principal Full Stack Developer

* Role type: Temporary, 12 months opportunity
* Grade: 11/12 - Salary ranges from $145,378 - $168,130 plus 11.5% superannuation + Leave loading
* Location: Sydney with hybrid working arrangement

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Fullstack Developer to join the Government Technologies Platform (GTP) team within Digital NSW.

The successful candidate will be an organised, collaborative and proactive team player who will perform a key role in providing efficient delivery of solutions for the benefit of NSW citizens.

Who we are:

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider and regulator, focusing on delivering first-class customer service, digital transformation, and regulatory reform to create better outcomes for the people of NSW. Government Technology Platforms (GTP) forms part of Digital NSW and delivers core and common digital capabilities and infrastructure solutions including cross-sector leadership across NSW Government underpinned by the Digital Government Strategy. Our Digital Programs team within GTP is currently recruiting at scale to deliver on high profile and exciting large-scale digital transformation programs.

About the role:

In this hands-on role, you will provide technical leadership by collaborating closely with team members and other teams in the NSW Government, in an Agile environment, applying lean problem-solving methods to deliver value within a complex ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop fullstack solutions using ReactJS, NodeJs and .NET
* Collaborate with software developers, business analysts and software architects in an agile setting to plan, design, develop, test, and sustain client solutions.
* Engage actively in daily standups, sprint planning meetings, retrospectives, and broader technical discussions to improve team and chapter collaboration.
* Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with client requirements.
* Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code, ensuring standards compliance and advocating for best practices in software development.

Skill Requirements:

* Solid knowledge of ReactJS, Typescript, HTML5 and CSS (AntD preferable), including JEST.
* Solid understanding of .NET including NUNIT
* Solid knowledge of NodeJs
* Good knowledge on building Serverless applications in AWS.
* Good experience working in a fully agile software development environment.
* Good experience in micro-services, API and contract driven design and development.
* Good experience with JIRA and GIT workflows.
* Experience with DevOps, CI/CD using GitHub/GitHub actions.
* Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes preferable.
* Knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL.
* Knowledge of Code Analysis tools, such as Snyk preferable.
* Knowledge of ELK or similar stacks preferable.
* Experience with AWS
* Ability to work under pressure and meet hard deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated experience working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
* Highly collaborative, can-do approach, within and outside the immediate teams.
