Established
in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled
organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate,
comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the
Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in
the Northern Territory.
ABOUT
THE ROLE
The Student Support Coordinator will ensure that
student(s) undertaking the Aboriginal Health Practitioner; and other qualifications taking part in supervised clinical placements are culturally safe,
supported and
work ready.
WHAT
YOU WILL DO
Ensure
students are culturally safe and supported to
complete their qualification and supervised clinical placements through:
* Brokerage between the Registered Training Organization (RTO), DDHS, and students.
* Social and emotional well-being support for trainees and students
* Attendance Support, particularly in navigating work and study commitments in various clinic locations.
* Implementing and advocating for students' Individual Learning Support Plans, including
individual or group tutoring and ongoing mentoring, to ensure successful
completion.
* Monitor the progress of Trainee Aboriginal
Health Practitioners and other students undertaking clinical placements,
ensuring the completion of coursework and the development of required
competencies.
* Completing and submitting reports on student outcomes to the National Aboriginal Community
Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) and the Santos Foundation
SELECTIONCRITERIA
Essential
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Aboriginal and/or
Aboriginal Health Practitioner
* Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a Certificate IV or Diploma in Training and Assessment
* A
minimum of three years of industry experience as an Aboriginal Health
Practitioner, including recent practice and demonstrated experience in delivering training
and support to health practitioners.
* Comprehensive knowledge of training and clinical placement standards for Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander Health Practitioners, adhering to ASQA and AHPRA guidelines to
ensure successful student completion and registration.
* Willingness
to travel by road or air as required, to engage and collaborate stakeholders.
