Koala and River Cruises is a Brisbane based tourism operator delivering daily ticketed cruises, private charters, and premium river experiences. As the business continues to grow, we are creating a new Operations & Marketing Coordinator role to support day-to-day operations, marketing execution, and customer experience.
This is a hands-on, varied role in a small, owner-led business where your contribution will directly influence growth.

About the Role
This is a newly created role designed to take ownership of key operational and marketing functions, allowing the Director to focus on strategy, sales, and business development.
You will work closely with the Director as a trusted second-in-command, running defined parts of the business independently while contributing ideas and insights to support growth.
This role suits someone with tourism, events, or hospitality experience who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and variety.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Customer Experience
* Manage the info@ inbox and primary customer contact line (Monday–Friday)
* Handle customer enquiries, booking changes, refunds, and issue resolution
* Maintain booking platforms and ensure accuracy across all sales channels
* Support charter enquiries and assist with converting leads into bookings
* Coordinate day-to-day operational requirements to ensure smooth service delivery
Marketing & Growth Support
* Plan, schedule, and publish social media content
* Manage Facebook and Instagram platforms for business social media presence
* Assist with promotions, campaigns, and website content updates
* Support VIP experiences, special events, and themed cruises
* Assist with marketing coordination across partners and platforms
* Attend trade shows, tourism expos, and industry events as required
* Represent the business professionally with industry partners and stakeholders
Coordination & Relationships
* Liaise with partners, suppliers, and external stakeholders
* Support relationship management with key tourism and event partners
* Provide operational and marketing insights to support decisionmaking

About You
* Experience in tourism, attractions, events, or hospitality
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience in tourism, attractions, events, or hospitality
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Confident communicator with good judgement and customer focus
* Comfortable working independently and making decisions within agreed boundaries
* Tech-savvy and quick to learn booking systems and marketing tools
* Proactive, reliable, and commercially minded
* Must have existing Australian work authorisation at the time of application
Marine experience is not required.

What We Offer
* Salary: $68,000 – $75,000 + super, depending on experience
* Permanent full-time role (38 hours)
* Hybrid working arrangement with agreed in-person days
* Monday–Friday role (with occasional attendance at events or trade shows)
