Austal has been selected as the Commonwealth's "Strategic Shipbuilder" in the West. This is an opportunity to join us for this exciting challenge and contribute to the continuous naval shipbuilding program in Western Australia (WA).
The SSA will establish a program for designing and building vessels at Henderson Shipyard, initially delivering Landing Craft Medium & Heavy for the Australian Army. It aims to develop the capacity within the Henderson Precinct to build vessels for the Commonwealth, led by Austal, involving local industry, supply chain, and workforce engagement.

About The OpportunityThe Contracts Manager is a key role within the Commercial team, ensuring the principles of 'delivering together' are upheld. They act as the primary contract assurance provider for the Head Contract, ensuring compliance with the Commercial Framework, business rules, processes, and systems.
The Contracts Manager manages commercial risks by implementing effective controls, minimizing adverse impacts on Austal and clients, and driving governance and best practices across all contracts.
Develop and maintain a contract management framework with standardized practices and templates.Manage contractual risks, working with the Senior Commercial Manager on governance and stakeholder engagement.Oversee the Contract Master Schedule and ensure timely, professional delivery of contractual obligations.Develop management plans and monitor compliance with standards.Manage Technical Data Software Rights (TDSR) and ensure IP compliance.Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards.Negotiate and manage contract variations and claims, growing contract value.Collaborate with stakeholders to implement change initiatives and business solutions.Skills And ExperienceProven understanding of contract management.Degree in Business, Law, or Commerce.Contract Management Qualification.Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.Excellent communication skills.Technical leadership ability and relationship-building skills.Experience in Supply Chain and project management principles.Due to security requirements, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible for a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
