Job Description:
This role leads legal risk management across Trading, Transition, Operations, and Projects business units. You will ensure regulatory compliance while enabling innovation and strategic growth.
* Provide leadership to a high-performing team delivering key business plan measures.
* Offer deep expertise in compliance advice and investigation of compliance issues with internal stakeholders.
* Lead engagement with regulators on compliance matters and oversee effective management of compliance reporting.
* Oversee compilation of regulatory information and data requests for submission to regulators.
* Drive a compliance culture and build awareness and capability across the organisation.
* Design and deliver training to colleagues to build their knowledge and reduce reliance on Legal & Governance.
Requirements:
To be successful, you will have:
* A degree in Law and a current practising certificate in Victoria.
* 8+ years post-qualification experience in a reputable Australian law firm or in-house.
* Experience in areas such as commercial contracting, corporate acquisitions, and energy project development.
* Strong communication skills and ability to influence independently.
* Ability to manage change and negotiate the right outcomes for the business.
* Understanding of the Australian energy sector and regulatory environment.
