About the Role
The role involves telephone triage and community-based assessment and risk management of consumers with mental health concerns. The position requires working as part of a 24‐hour, seven‐day‐a‐week rotating roster.
Responsibilities
Provide telephone triage and acute mental health assessment for consumers.
Conduct community-based mental health and drug & alcohol assessments.
Manage risk and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
Exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters.
Use health information systems and maintain documentation.
Work flexible hours including night and weekend shifts as required.
Qualifications
* Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other equivalence.
* Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Psychologist with a four‐year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
* Demonstrated core competency skills in Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol interventions in the community and experience in providing comprehensive assessments.
* High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with people with acute mental illness or disorder and significant drug and alcohol use.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and exercise independent judgement.
* Demonstrated computer skills and ability to use health information systems.
* Commitment to quality improvement, evidence‐based practice, and ongoing learning.
* Current driver's licence or willingness to travel.
* For overseas qualified Social Workers: qualifications must be assessed by AASW.
