Municipal Contract Operations Manager

We're growing and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Municipal Contract & Operations Manager to lead our collections contract across the Far North Queensland region.
This role is responsible for end‐to‐end municipal operations, contract performance, service delivery and stakeholder relationships across a large service area. You'll lead a team, manage a purpose‐built fleet, and ensure safe, reliable and cost‐effective waste and recycling collection services for the community.
What you'll lead
* Day‐to‐day municipal collections operations
* Service delivery for waste, recycling, organics, bulk and public-place collections
* Fleet utilisation and maintenance planning across 25 specialist vehicles
* Contract performance, KPIs, reporting and customer outcomes
* Safety, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
* Strong working relationships with council and internal stakeholders
What you bring
* Proven experience managing municipal or contract‐based operations
* Waste, transport, logistics or essential services background
* Strong leadership capability in a blue‐collar environment
* Commercial acumen with P&L accountability
* Ability to manage risk, performance and community‐facing service delivery
* A collaborative style, strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
