Details: A temporary vacancy exists at Birrigai Outdoor School for a Catering Team Leader to join part of the team. The Catering Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of kitchen hands and chefs to deliver an exceptional culinary experience to all visitors. Key duties include the preparation and serving of meals, maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards, rostering, ordering and customer service, amongst other responsibilities.
In a fast paced and sometimes unpredictable environment, the role covers a variety of tasks with competing demands so the successful applicant will need a broad skill base, to be flexible, adaptable, able to work under limited direction, and have the ability to prioritise and see tasks through to completion. Strong communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude are necessary attributes for this role.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Mandatory:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, plus a Food Safety Certificate incorporating HACCP.
* First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
* Manual driver's licence (C-class)

Highly Desirable:
* Trade Certificate in Commercial Cookery
Notes: This is a temporary position available from 27 January 2026 to 30 September 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
