Role Overview
We are seeking either an experience development professional to step in to this role and lead the front-end planning, feasibility, design and approvals for a major precinct development. This role requires a commercially minded development professional who can balance customer needs, market intelligence and organisational strategy to shape high-quality, community-centred outcomes.
You will take responsibility for concept development, feasibility ownership, planning pathways, design coordination, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and alignment with sales and marketing. Working closely with internal project management teams, you will ensure delivery settings remain commercially sound and that each project meets its financial, market and community objectives.
Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end development activities from concept through approvals and handover to delivery teams.
* Own and maintain detailed project feasibilities, including revenue, cost, staging and sensitivity analysis.
* Coordinate planning and design processes, engaging consultants and ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
* Manage planning and approvals pathways, including preparation of documentation and negotiations with authorities.
* Define market-aligned product outcomes and collaborate with sales and marketing on pricing, positioning and go-to-market strategies.
* Drive community and stakeholder engagement activities, extracting insights and incorporating feedback into project direction.
* Oversee procurement, budgeting, forecasting and risk management across all development phases.
* Monitor consultant performance, ensure timely deliverables, and maintain accountability across project stakeholders.
* Provide governance reporting, including financial updates, risk assessments and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
You'll either be a highly experienced Development Manager seeking a step up, or a Senior Development Manager looking for a new challenge or something more meaningful. To be successful in this role you'll need:
* Strong experience in residential, retirement living, seniors living or mixed-use development.
* Proven capability managing feasibilities, commercial analysis and financial performance.
* Strong understanding of planning frameworks, approvals processes and design coordination.
* Experience influencing product definition, market alignment and sales outcomes.
* Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders including residents, community groups, consultants and internal executives.
* High-level communication skills with the ability to present confidently and build trust across varied groups.
* A proactive, outcomes-focused mindset with the ability to make informed decisions in complex environments.
