Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for aSenior Data Analyst. The role provides high-level data analysis and business intelligence to support clinical Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and corporate reporting across Katherine West Health Board. The role leads the design and delivery of advanced dashboards, data models and databases that enable timely, accurate and evidence-based decision-making. Working at a strategic level, the Senior Data Analyst ensures reporting aligns with organisational KPIs and strategic priorities, provides expert advice on the effective use of data, and supports performance monitoring and service improvement. The role also builds organisational data capability by mentoring staff and fostering a culture where data insights inform planning, accountability and service delivery.
Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000 km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Position Description
The Senior Data Analyst leads the delivery of high-quality business intelligence and reporting solutions that support clinical CQI and corporate performance across the organisation. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining advanced Power BI dashboards, data models, and data warehouse architectures, integrating data from multiple internal and external systems to enable reliable and automated reporting at scale. Working closely with executive, clinical, and corporate stakeholders, the position translates complex information needs into practical insights, provides strategic advice to inform planning and decision-making, and contributes evidence-based analysis to organisational priorities. The role also leads data development and prioritisation processes, while mentoring staff, to build data capability and ensuring analytics initiatives are aligned with organisational goals and delivered effectively.
