Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker Role Overview
The Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
As part of our team, you will work collaboratively to provide care and protection services that are sensitive to the needs of our clients. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Working effectively with parents, family members, children or young people to understand their needs and develop strategies to support them.
* Developing safety plans and conducting thorough risk assessments to ensure the well-being of our clients.
* Managing complex cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
* Being involved in court processes, including preparing court documents and attending court proceedings.
Requirements for Success
* A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred; however, applicants without this qualification must have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
* The ability to build strong relationships, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A valid driver's licence and a paid Working with Children clearance number.
* Documented verification of Aboriginality confirming your identity as an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent.
