Job Description
About The Role
As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, The Dental Technician is responsible for designing, constructing, and repairing dental prosthetics, including crowns, bridges, dentures, and orthodontic devices. This role ensures that dental appliances meet high-quality standards and align with patient needs and dental specifications.
Duties
* Construct, modify, and repair dental appliances, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
* Maintain and calibrate dental lab equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials.
* Perform quality control checks on all dental prosthetics before delivery to dentists.
* Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures.
* Ensure culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients by incorporating cultural awareness into interactions.
* Communicate effectively with dentists, prothetists and dental staff to ensure accurate design and fit of dental appliances.

* Salary of $82,732 per annum (based on qualifications and experience).

Desired Skills And Experience
Required
* Diploma or degree in Dental Technology or equivalent qualification
* Experience in fabricating dental prosthetics, including crowns, dentures, and bridges
* Strong knowledge of dental materials, techniques, and laboratory equipment
* 3 years' experience working in a dental laborator.
* Proficiency in using dental laboratory equipment and materials
* Ability to interpret dental impressions, prescriptions, and instructions from dentists and prosthetists
* Attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision work
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot dental appliance issues
* National Police Certificate.
* Immunisations
* Evidence of Work Rights
Preferred
* Knowledge of digital dental technology and CAD/CAM systems.
* Experience with 3D printing and digital dental technology
* Understanding of infection control and sterilisation protocols
