About the Role
The Workshop Department at BildGroup plays a critical role in supporting project delivery by ensuring fleet availability, reliability, and compliance. The team is responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, warranty management, and continuous improvement across a diverse plant and equipment fleet, enabling safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations across our projects.
We are seeking an experienced Field Mechanic to provide frontline mechanical support across our project sites. Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will provide onsite servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance across plant, fleet, and equipment. This role plays a critical part in minimising downtime, supporting operators, and ensuring fleet readiness across our operations.
How You'll Make a Difference
* Provide onsite servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for plant and fleet.
* Respond to breakdown call-outs and minimise equipment downtime.
* Complete scheduled preventative maintenance in the field.
* Accurately record work completed, parts used, and follow-up actions.
* Conduct risk assessments and ensure all work complies with WHS standards.
* Support operators with equipment guidance and fault identification.
* Maintain field service vehicle, tools, and stock for service readiness.
What You'll Bring to the Team
* Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Mobile Plant (or equivalent).
* Heavy Vehicle Technician Accreditation (or equivalent).
* Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy vehicles or plant equipment.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capability.
* Ability to work independently across project sites.
* Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.
* Willingness to participate in an on‐call roster and undertake travel, including periods of working away from home within Victoria, as required.
* Additional mobile plant tickets will be highly regarded.
