About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Family Store Manager to manage the daily recycling, retail, pickup and delivery and administrative functions of the Long Jetty Family Store. You will provide leadership and direction to an enthusiastic and compassionate team. Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (15.2 hours per week) position based in Long Jetty, NSW. Roster is Mondays and Tuesdays. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Level 6 Award.You will successfully
Oversee the display of goods for sale, authorise/set pricing, coordinate adequate labour and physical resources
Lead a safe workplace environment, report any property or equipment damage and coordinate all repairs.
Recruit, maintain and manage an excellent volunteer/employee's force that run the store efficiently (including coordination of Work for the Dole, State Debt Recovery or other similar community or corporate volunteer resource programs)
You will have
Experience in retail and/or customer service (preferably in a supervisory/managerial role).
Demonstrated experience in cash handling, banking and cash register operations and reconciliations.
Experience in mentoring/training and managing staff or ability to demonstrate capability to undertake.
Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry (highly desirable)
Self-motivation, high level of initiative and a strong work ethic.
Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
Team working skills, flexibility with a positive attitude.
Excellent customer service skills.
Solid level of computer literacy and basic bookkeeping.
