Maintenance Manager - Full Time
We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Maintenance Manager to join our busy team at Breakfree Port Pirie. Our awarded hotel is a centrally located and comfortable property welcoming both leisure and corporate travellers whilst in region. Our facilities include brand new villas, motel rooms, the popular Angus & Co. Bar and Grill, outdoor swimming pool, function room and off street car parking.
The hotel is currently managed by 1834 Hotels. Our restaurant is open 7 days a week and offers a selection of the freshest meat and local produce for our dishes. Our front office and housekeeping teams provide a consistent and high-quality standard of guest services and provide efficient and profitable operation of hotel accommodation by promoting and selling a variety of packages to cater for a vast range of clientele. The maintenance department support this busy operation, maintaining all grounds, facilities and rooms at the property.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is busy, diverse and a key part of the management team at the property.
The key responsibilities will include:
* Motivating, leading, developing and inspiring a small team of Maintenance Assistants in ensuring that the hotel presents and functions to a high standard at all times;
* Capacity to take initiative and coordinate multiple tasks or projects simultaneously, along with your ability to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and fault find to a high level;
* Managing all repairs and maintenance to facilities, grounds maintenance and irrigation and waste management;
* Liaising with trades' people to resolve maintenance issues in the most efficient and cost effective manner;
* Identifying areas to maximise profit and minimize cost in relation to maintenance tasks; and
* Assist guests with all queries and complaints, and provides accurate information to guests; about the property facilities and features.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A can-do, responsible, and flexible approach to work with a strong work ethic;
* Prior experience in a commercial, engineering or maintenance function in a similar environment;
* Previous trade employment, plus extensive gardening/grounds keeping knowledge;
* Comprehensive financial understanding of managing a profitable operation;
* Exceptional customer service skills; including friendly customer service demeanour;
* Proven ability to be a proactive individual with strong organisational and time management skills;
* Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills;
* A passion for exceeding guest expectations and providing a high standard of guest service;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Exceptional personal presentation and grooming;
* Knowledge of correct manual handling techniques and WHS awareness;
* Demonstrated understanding of Hospitality Industry (General) Award compliance;
* A current valid (manual) driver's license;
* A strong appreciation and compliance of workplace safety.
