Senior Analyst / Associate - Renewables M&A
Reporting to the Director, Business Development, the Senior Analyst will join a team of high-performing and collaborative professionals, working closely together on the development and execution of growth and capital recycling strategies in North America. The Senior Analyst will also support key initiatives related to capital deployment—primarily through greenfield project development—as well as operating asset investment and divestiture opportunities.
The Senior Analyst will focus on supporting senior members of the team to underwrite and execute renewable power investment opportunities, acting as the lead on financial modeling and playing a central role in the underwriting process. This individual will also serve as a key point of contact with internal investment teams and contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives, including capital recycling strategies. The team leverages competitive advantages such as geographical scale, local presence, access to large-scale capital, and an operations-oriented approach to advance and acquire high-quality assets on a value basis.

Responsibilities:
* Participate in development investment decisions and other transaction execution activities, including due diligence of potential investments, identifying key investment merits and risks, evaluating scenarios, meeting with development and management teams, reviewing project documentation, and coordinating with third-party consultants as required.
* Conduct valuations of assets in the renewable power sector using methods such as precedent transactions and discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis.
* Build detailed financial models used in the evaluation of potential transactions and to support transaction execution.
* Create presentation materials and present findings to senior management and investment committees.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support due diligence and liaise with external stakeholders during transaction evaluations.
* Support significant strategic initiatives at the corporate level, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
* Review existing portfolio assets and assist with value-enhancing business plan initiatives.
* Contribute ideas for potential transactions and deal structures, perform industry research, and evaluate new market segments and opportunities.
* Conduct special projects as needed.
Requirements:
* University degree in a quantitative field such as finance, business, economics, or accounting with strong academic performance.
* 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in renewable power, infrastructure, private equity, investment banking, project finance, transaction services, or valuations.
* Experience in research and due diligence, evaluating investment opportunities, conducting financial and valuation analysis, and preparing materials for senior stakeholders.
* Strong skills in financial modeling in Excel, including valuation and transaction financing analysis.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.
