Your Opportunity

As the Senior Marketing Officer you will lead the implementation of the TAFE Queensland North Region marketing activity covering student recruitment, retention, referral, relationships and reputation.

This position reports to the Manager, Marketing

This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity

The position will be based primarily at either Townsville or Cairns however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies that build brand awareness, establish key marketing objectives and use knowledge of campaign processes to ensure the effective integration of all marketing and communication activities are consistent with the Region's annual marketing plan.

Produce content for publications, advertising, website and other marketing collateral as required.

Lead the coordination of graphic design project management including contribution to program/activity briefs.

Coordinate the financial activity for the north region marketing team, including; budgetary planning, implementing preferred supplier contracts, and monitoring spend.

Ensure the financial integrity of marketing activities and priorities by adhering to procurement requirements and analysing financial return on investment for marketing activities.

Maintain established networks by actively engaging with key internal and external stakeholders, Faculty staff, Business Development and other TAFE Queensland regions including TAFE Queensland Corporate to enhance marketing operations and identify priority marketing requirements.

Plan and implement a range of marketing and communication initiatives on behalf of key business unit areas via a range of traditional and emerging channels to market.

Ensure corporate identity and brand compliance in the delivery of marketing services.

Provide creative direction for marketing and communication initiatives ensuring a 'one-voice' approach in market.

Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities and channels to inform the future direction of campaigns and strategies.

Coordinate workflow management for operational marketing staff.

Apply project management techniques to set priorities, develop work plans and deliver agreed outcomes on time and within budget.

Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.

Undertake other tasks and projects at the direction of the Marketing Manager.

Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.

Collaborate as a proactive member of relevant state-wide marketing networks, providing support and advice, ensuring cohesive alignment of regional collateral and content with state-wide marketing objectives.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

Demonstrated experience in developing, planning and implementing innovative marketing and brand strategies and media planning and buying that align with organisational goals and enhance profitability;

Ability to review, edit and work through the creative process and provide team members with effective creative direction ensuring brand and message consistency;

A collaborative working style, a service-orientated ethos, superior people and relationships skills, effective team management skills and a proactive approach to engaging internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to derive insight from the analysis of research findings, market metrics and intelligence in order to inform future direction of marketing strategy and campaign activity.

Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing or advertising role, or similar.

Tertiary qualification in marketing.
