The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville provides surgical services across 16 theatres, catering for adults and pediatrics with various surgical specialties. We boast brand new state-of-the-art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day surgery facilities, as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate surgeons within the theatre setting, supporting and collaborating with the theatre team to provide excellent patient care.
* Prepare operating theatres and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all documentation is completed.
* Achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care.
* Demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and patient management.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital perioperative setting.
* At least 2 years' recent Scrub/Scout experience.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded but not essential.
* Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
* A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to model and promote the Mater values.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels.
